When fishing heavy vegetation remember to look for subtle differences in the weeds. Many times what you see on the surface will give you a clue to what is underneath the weeded matt. "I begin fishing heavy weeds by first looking at the bank to see if there might be something there that could also be in the water. (ex. rocks, stumps, hills etc.) many time these structures could also be scattered in the weeds". How many times have you ever seen a live crawfish laying on its side? We'll answer for you - NEVER! When you are stalking bass, you are using an artificial object to fool a cautious creature in its very own food-filled domain. This makes a natural presentation highly important if you want to get your line stretched. The position a jig takes on the bottom is determined by the size and shape of the contact surface, or "footprint". A rounded surface will naturally have a smaller footprint than a flat one and will be much less....well, inclined to remain upright. As we said, when fishing gets tough, there are 3 rules, and all 3 are to SLOW DOWN. With a wider head and a flat bottom, Bass Stalker Jigs have a much larger contact area and can be fished more slowly than other jigs. | ||||||
